Jake Witt
This Northern Michigan prospect is a converted tight end turned offensive tackle. He started dedicating himself to the position just 15 months ago and his first game at tackle was 8 months ago. Despite being an unpolished and inexperienced prospect, Witt has all the physical tools to be a starting NFL tackle. At 6’7” and 302 pounds, Witt managed to score a 9.8 out of 10 on the relative-athletic score (RAS). Currently projected as a 7th rounder, if he falls to the Eagles at pick 248, he could easily be a low-risk high-reward selection for Philadelphia.
Deuce Vaughn
Lots of teams will never draft a running back who is only 5’5”. The Eagles are not one of them. In fact, the Eagles have shown interest in ultra-short running backs before. Darren Sproles, Boston Scott, and Tarik Cohen are all 5’6”. Sproles and Scott are both long-tenured Eagles, while Tarik Cohen was reported as a big interest for the Eagles during the 2017 draft. Deuce Vaughn was remarkable at Kansas State. He totaled 4,884 yards and 43 touchdowns from scrimmage in three seasons of play. If the Eagles have an early round grade on him and he falls to the 6th round, Philadelphia could see him as a good-value pick.
Clark Phillips III
This Utah cornerback was both a unanimous All-American and the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year in 2022. In terms of tape, Clark Phillips III is a first round cornerback. In terms of his size and lackluster combine performance, he’s likely a day-two or even day-three selection. Still, it’s hard to not fall in love with Phillips as a prospect. Brett Kollmann, host of “The Film Room” on Youtube, compared him to former Eagles’ great Brandin Boykin. Boykin was 5 ft. 9 and 183 pounds, while Phillips is 5 ft. 10 and 183 pounds. Both players also display great ball-hawking capabilities on film. If the Eagles recognize the Boykin comparison and also view their backup–nickel spot as a position of need, Clark Phillips III could easily be selected by Philadelphia.
